Yesterday evening, after we got home from the park, I undressed Lorelai and got her ready for her bath. I noticed a few bumps on her thigh and but... didn't think much of it since she was outside playing. There's a pond right by the park so it could have easily been mosquitoes or something that bit her.
Anyway, this morning I got her up early because we were planning on doing a trial run at gymnastics. I took off her fleece sleeper and she had big, ugly splotches of red ALL OVER HER BODY. It was seriously so scary, I've NEVER seen a rash so bad.
Of course I was freaking out. I tried calling Mayo at work but he wouldn't answer his phone. I called around to a few pediatricians that we had checked out and the only one that would take her was Dr. L___. We got in there quickly and he was seriously the sweetest doctor ever! The whole staff was great so I had a good feeling about him.
He sang to Lore and checked out her rash and we figured out that it was probably the blueberries that she had had for a snack yesterday (and oops, for breakfast this morning)... She showed signs of sensitivity to them when she was an infant but it went away. She had them yesterday for the first time in a while, which is probably why it triggered the reaction. He just told me to give her benedryl a few times a day over the next few days to be safe.
She was acting fine, though. She pulled the scrapbooking box out first thing and played with her stickers (all while singing to herself). Then at the doctors I taught her "doctor" (she hasn't been in a while) and she was calling for him, "Dottttttt-torrrr, Where is he?"
